On Sunday, September 27th the Kerscher boys took down the Chestnut tree in the front yard at 230 Fawnwood. This tree spent many years there, making a mess and wreaking havoc on the lawn. The decision was made to take the tree down when grandpa fell trying to trim it and ended up breaking his ankle. It was time for the tree to go.

OSU vs. Navy

Last weekend, The Andy Kerscher family went down to Columbus and spent Friday night and Saturday with Uncle Russ and Aunt Kate. Friday night, we enjoyed an awesome bonfire that included smores and jiffy pop popcorn. On Saturday morning, after Kate made a great breakfast, we all went to OSU to tailgate at Kate's company tailgate. Andy, Luke, Russ & Kate went into the game to watch OSU beat Navy while Tara and Sam went to visit their friends.
After the game, Russ grilled out hamburgers and hotdogs for dinner and then it was time to head back to Cuyahoga Falls. Luke asked (through tears) if we could just leave him there at Uncle Russ' house.
Needless to say, a great time was had by all!!

Little Entrepreneurs
Kindergarten at Silver Lake Elementary
Luke's first day of Kindergarten was Tuesday, August 25th.
On the first day of school, I arrived at Luke's school to pick him up and Luke was in line to get on the bus! (I didn't know, unless you send a note, your child is automatically put on the bus). I got him out of line to take him home and he whispered to me "mom, I really wanted to ride on the bus". Luke loves loves loves riding the bus!!
Luke and his buddy, Sophia, outside of their school.
Always picture ready!
This was taken through the window just minutes before the principal kindly asked me not to linger at the window ;)
Luke could not have had a better first week of school. He absolutely loves Kindergarten! His teacher, Mrs. Watson, graduated from Hoban with one of my cousins (go figure) and she is super warm and friendly. So the first week of school, Luke is rushing inside each day and telling me that he has to finish his homework. I thought this was strange because his teacher said that he wouldn't have homework the first week. So I say, "Luke, I don't think you have homework". He says, "well Mrs. Watson says that if we don't finish our bell work then we can finish it at home". Turns out he was saving one little part of his bell work each day to do at home so that it could be his "homework".
Something funny and unrelated to Kindergarten: Sammy just ran up to me while I'm working on the blog and says, " Hey mom, this new cable box willy works....they have new star wars lego commercials!!!"
